This OER microeconomics textbook is intended for a one-semester course and can be used in a two-semester sequence with the companion textbook, Principles of Macroeconomics. The three introductory chapters are common to both textbooks.

The adaptation uses equations sparingly and does not require calculus. Most chapters introduce a numerical example or case study at the outset, allowing students to examine a data set numerically, plot it and analyze the material in that form.

End-of-chapter problems use numerical and graphical analysis. A small number require students to solve simple linear equations involving intersecting straight lines, while enough other questions are provided to test understanding without completing that subset.

Detailed solutions to exercises are provided at the end of the e-textbook for those adopting the Harris Learning Solutions assessment.
